EDANN

Eating Disorders Australian National Network (EDANN) is a national collaborative venture with a current membership representing more than 80 leading organisations in the field of eating disorders. EDANN members are recognised nationally and internationally as leaders in research, clinical practice and consumer representation.

The network formed to facilitate collaboration in order to strengthen the understanding of eating disorders and promote the consistent implementation of evidence based prevention, early intervention and management strategies. The first priority of the coalition is to establish a broad and inclusive Australian network that will provide the mechanism for communication nationally and across sectors.

EDANN Membership

The members of EDANN represent a full spectrum of organisations with an experience, interest and expertise in eating disorders.

The Butterfly Foundation's Relationship with EDANN

The Butterfly Foundation has been the catalyst for EDANN providing the opportunity for leaders and experts in the field of eating disorders to work collaboratively.  The Butterfly Foundation is the convenor and Lead Agency of EDANN facilitating collaboration and the implementation and management of projects.

The Butterfly Foundation is a not for profit community organisation established in 2002 to support those who suffer from eating disorders and negative body image.  The Butterfly Foundation is the only Australian national body for advocacy and leadership for this illness group.  The Butterfly Foundation provides support for research, clinical treatment and prevention programs nationally and national awareness strategies.

Our Purpose

Until now Australia has lacked a national forum enabling groups to work towards common goals and effectively plan activities. EDANN will facilitate partnerships, providing a basis for integrated prevention, intervention and management for eating disorders.
